There are no economic releases of consequence either on Monday or Tuesday aside from the start of earnings season. Opening the list of companies releasing earnings is Alcoa, as usual. Wednesday is the first day of the week we get meaningful economic information. It comes in the form of retail sales, the producer price index (PPI), business inventories and the Fed’s beige book. On Thursday, we get the March consumer price index (CPI). We finish the week with the April NY Fed Empire survey, March industrial production and April preliminary University of Michigan consumer sentiment reports on Friday.
