Weekly Call With Jose de Haro: Market Wrap June 12th 2016

The June FOMC meeting concluding on Wednesday is the main highlight this coming week. The Fed is expected to leave short-term interest rates unchanged, and policymakers will provide an update of their economic and financial forecasts, which were last published in March. Much has changed since then: Financial conditions have eased meaningfully further as the stock market and oil prices have recovered, with the former close to its previous record high. To be sure, the pause in dollar appreciation has been a factor, mainly due to the fact that the Fed backed away from raising rates in the first quarter, which subsequently diminished financial market expectations of the near-term trajectory of US monetary policy.
